History of Basketball 

1.  Canadian Doctor James Naismith invented the game for the YMCA to play during the winter months.
2. Springfield, Massachusetts.
3. January 20th, 1892
4. Naismith wrote simple rules for the game, and nailed up two peach baskets for hoops
5. He invented this game so that they were able to be active indoors without having to go out to the snow.

7. They didn't have many of the rules they have today. like for example the hoop was just a basket and it didn't even have a hole on it. 
8. Since they couldn't run with the ball I'm guessing they took turns shooting hoops 
9. well, for starters the basket or hoop actually has a hole at the end. And i guess you could run it now.
