History of Basketball
- Canadian Doctor James Naismith invented the game for the YMCA to play during the winter months.
- Springfield, Massachusetts.
- January 20th, 1892
- Naismith wrote simple rules for the game, and nailed up two peach baskets for hoops
- He invented this game so that they were able to be active indoors without having to go out to the snow.
- ........
- They didn't have many of the rules they have today. like for example the hoop was just a basket and it didn't even have a hole on it.
- Since they couldn't run with the ball I'm guessing they took turns shooting hoops
- well, for starters the basket or hoop actually has a hole at the end. And i guess you could run it now.
